Inside the Criminal Mind by Stanton E. Samenow, Ph.D. Book Review

This book is full of useful information in an easy to read format. You don’t have to be a psychologist to understand this book at all. The criminal mind is outlined and reviewed in depth, with dozens of great examples for each issue. As a studying psychologist, this book is of a particular interest to me as several of my past classes and upcoming ones are delving into this issue. Also, on a personal level with the history of criminals that I have been around, this book makes my understanding them much simpler and allows me to better understand them and understand how to help them. This book also very clearly explains that the things we have heard for years that will change a criminal, in fact will not. This book has historical value as being an edition that spans back years to encompass a broader range of criminal minds that have been documented and evaluated. This author really knows his stuff. He give legitimacy to his words throughout the entire book. You are never left to question whether you are reading just randomness or factual information. This book is factual, statistics are used through out to lend to the credibility of the information as well. I fully expect to use this book as a reference in the future. (Properly cited of course.)
